Rook did not need to use his imagination to percieve how stupid he looked right now, with his mouth partways open for a long time. His brain was not idle however, as usual, it raced.
...Come on, pull yourself together. It's only Dimitri, he dosen't mean any harm.
I... don't know how to react to this.
Rook however did the only logical thing, he observed Dimitri, was silent for a long time and then said carefully and slowly, convincingly.
"To some you may be".
He hoped that would suffice. He almost gagged when he found himself musing Primates are not my thing, but his muzzle is kind of intersting. Rook shifted, uncomfortable with the fact he was observing another man in such a way. Dimitri's looks did not appeal to him very much, but even the fact that he could pick out one thing he liked...
What did that mean? His whisker twitched, unhapilly.
Zarek had comforted him in saying that he wasn't gay--just in love with one man. But what kind of shit was developing here?

Dimitri grinned at this. Sadly enough for him that was enough to purge the doubt in his mind. In fact he seemed pretty happy about it as he stood up, punched his fist in the air... and promtly slipped on a loose pat of butter falling backwards and landing on his tail. "Gah... owowowow." He sat for a moment and lifted his right foot to his face and sighed. "Never fails. I get a new pair of feetgloves and get something on them." He reached with his other foot and removed the buttery glove and used his bare hand to remove his other glove so he matched. "Sigh. Vlad is gonna yell at me again. She bought those for me. They even have special padding on the palms so I don't freeze when she forces me to walk... outside." He shivered and looked at Rook pointing the spoon in his hand at the angel. "Is it really hard to understand I do not like the outdoors? I mean look at me Both my parents were from very tropic climates. Where it never got below 20 degrees... ever." He indicated his bare arms which were displayed by his t-shirt. "Does my skin LOOK like it should be in mind numbing cold?" His skin like most eels was slick with slime. occasionly a spot would drip off his arm.

"Be thankful the powers that be didn't give ya cold blood" said Rook, mildly amused and partways disturbed, trying to be polite as he could and not notice the small drops of something that looked a lot like runny mucus scittered around their cafeteria.
I need to start looking into the horrors our apprentices face. They may prefer my drills to this
Thankfully he was quickly recovering from the subject before, thankful he had switched to other things.
Never thought I'd thank the One God for ADD he thought, twitching a whisker and brushing back the thick fur of his own neck mane with two long claws. "I'm built for the cold, and I still find icicles where they have no place".
He shuddered dramatically, with the thought of last winter's cold as well as the stray thought that if Zarek ever figured out that he was spreading rumors of having a girlfriend he'd have his nads deepfreezed and made into popsickles.

Rap a tap tap tap tap tap. The sound boomed from the table as Dimitri rapid firely tapped his finger tips on the table top. The sound echoing as he pondered things. Thoughts passed like coffee through an elephant's intestinal tract. As he sat the thoughts sped faster and faster, quicker and quicker until his thoughts were brought to a screaming stop as he gazed in contemplation upon the weapon he had made. Slowly his eyebrows raised, slowly his mouth opened in suprised. Slowly light dawned and his brain connected things. With his free hand dimitri slowly pointed to his weapon in suprise. ". . . Did I really just spend a month on this. It is absolutly... why... WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME MY WEAPON LOOKED NAUGHTY?" He slapped his hand down as if he had been personally insulted. His head swivveled on his neck and he glared upon those in the room as if they were responsible. His green scales turned paler in shame and rage as he gazed upon it. "So many hours poured into this... and all anyone did was giggle or shake their heads... WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME? WHY?"

Rook stared at the eel hybrid, his ear flicking in annoyance at his volume, Rook hated two qualities in otherwise passable people: loudness and lingering. However as ridiculous as it was, the humor was beginning to fade, and he did feel rather sorry for the Weapons Master, he was great at his job and deadly as sin, but his naivety and neurotic qualities made it difficult for anyone to take him seriously, especially his own team.
He paused awkwardly for a moment, since he knew nothing about guns he felt he was treading on thin ice by offering any consolation, but he tried nonetheless "er....Hey it can't be that hard to change the shape can it? Just move a few things around, mess with the depth of the exterior..."

Dimitri was slumped over the table with the "device" laying on the table. He could swear it was glaring at him. He could feel it's mocking grin. He could feel it laughing. Laughing like all those that had seen his obsession in the orphanage. Laughing... he did not usually mind being laughed at but being laughed at by an inanimate object seemed personally. He swiveled one eye over to gaze upon the archangel while the other wallowed in misery. He exhaled out his nostrils and mumbled. "Just move things around... pfft..." He swivel the eye back to the device whose mockery had cost it it's gender identification. He looked at it's shape. It's form and then thoughts began to go through his mind. He thought of the assemblage of parts, the routings of wires. The placement of the hollows in the casing. His eye swiveled back to the old furre and back again. More quickly this time. He gazed at the blue head of the device and thought of shapes, of ideas... and suddenly both eyes swiveled to look onto Rook. His eyes lit up and a huge grin came over the eels face as he stayed in position for a moment before leaping up onto his seat bringing his face level with Rook's. "Just move things around... that.... is.... BRILLENT!" Dimitri began to babble a mile a minute with his muzzle and inch from Rook's. "Adifferantshapeadifferantassemblyandmaybeevenanewpaintjobanditwillbeabrandnewlady" He beamed at the furre and lifted up his muzzle to shout for joy. "OOOOOHYAY! If you ever feel like quitting that boring job you were assigned let me know. I could use someone like you in my department." From anyone else that would be mockery but there was not a trace of that in the gaze of the hybrid. He laughed to he heavens and then stopped and looked at Rook with a serious face. "Help me get another table. I need to draw up some more plans."
