Although the kangaroo was obviously extremely oblivious when claiming his purpose was similar to the tiger's, she couldn't help smirking at his comment. "Well, I wish you luck in getting laid. There's a whorehouse somewhere around here ain't there? I wouldn't know myself, but almost every town I've been to has some sort of line of prostitution."
Adeline wasn't touchy about talking about the opposite sex and their physical needs. She actually had a lot of perverted males working under her. She could respond to their comments and even throw some sharp retorts back, but she only got touchy when they started coming on to her. Adeline was not someone to mess with, for two reasons. One was that she was a badass tiger to begin with who didn't take kindly to being taken advantage of, and the second was Groves. NO ONE messed with Groves, and since Adeline was considered "Groves' property", no one messed with Adeline. Sometimes it irked the tiger that she was considered someone's "property", but Groves loved her and she loved Groves...it worked.

"'s no fun" the kangaroo waved her statement off airilly. "The real fun is winning 'em over, then the prize is all th' sweeter. 'sides I wouldn't wan' t' bed a stranger, catch nasty diseases that way y'can". He raised an eyebrow "Betcha thought differently eh? Appearances are deceivin' girly". With that he called for another drink, thankfully this time a different waitress responded and there were no hang ups. He sipped carefully wondering if she had anything else to say to him.

"I wouldn't know about the whole 'diseases' thing and 'winning them over', but I do know that once you find love, it keeps you content, or, it keeps me content, at any rate," Adeline said, swirling her drink a bit. Groves had met through a shared, intense dislike for the Council and very curious natures. How long ago was that? Two years? Maybe...it seemed right.
As to Christian's second statement, Adeline laughed a bit. Appearances are more deceiving than even the kangaroo knew. "You think so, Mr. Crook? Let's test that, eh? Let's see if my appearance is deceiving," she said as she took another swig from the glass, "What, may I ask, was your first impression of me?"
She laughed inwardly while waiting for an answer. He had no idea what she really was. None, at all.

"Fishing for compliments eh"? He curled his lip "I think you kin guess my impressions girlie, from the way I've been speakin' to you. You don' give away much though, so..." His ears curled back, Christian knew how he looked, teenage waste, he wondered if she saw any more than that, or if there really was much more than that to be seen at all.
"You first".

Adeline raised her eyebrows and rolled her eyes at Christian's immature response. However, she decided not to play along with the game and insist that she asked first. "If you must, Mr. Crook, I thought you were a very angry kangaroo who had it out for clumsy waitresses," the tiger replied cooly, still shaking her head at the kangaroo's response. "And," she added, "When I ask about appearances, I don't necessarily mean physical ones, but the first glance you get of personality. That's what I wonder. Whether or not I am capable of deceiving you there."
