I IMed Rook and she asked me to make this thread so here goes! To begin Raron and I have been talking and happened to create a character for me. While the character isn't really that important she would definitely help with the whole, getting a plot going, thing. We already have a bit of something going on with the Odyssians, being a genetically enhanced super human weapon. This thread is here for plot ideas that could tie Tarsus' hint to Adeline about a book, into that plot line. Right after I read Rooks return IM (And just before I wrote this up) it occurred to me (for anyone who's seen/read it) that we could make kind of a Monster analogue. The book could be a fairy tale that predicts the creation of these Odyssians. And Somehow ties them to the gates and the creator of them. Possibly written by St. Dwight Lucent himself. Anyway, that's my input on the matter. Feel free to suggest your ideas! {If you haven't seen/read Monster I might suggest watching reading or at least looking at the plot. It fits very well but I can see the whole, stealing a plot thing being a problem/ not very exciting. Not to mention it's very good. }

Well, I haven't heard of this Monster thing, but I am reluctant to take things directly from any TV Show, Book, Movie ect. since Angels has always been my original work, and the original work of those on the RPG.
But plot elements are borrowed all the time, whether we realize it or not. Could you detail exactly what elements/themes you want to borrow from the show/book?
I also don't think the book being a fairytale would fit in exactly with Angels themes, perhaps an old schematic or plans, notes or a diary is what I was thinking, with secret information about the Island's history, and Lucent's private studies which would bring whoever's looking much closer to finding the Island's name.
I DO think that the Odyissians could have something to do with the Island's history as well. That's an awful advanced technology for the Council to develop so suddenly without warning.
Though the idea that all the Angels actually WANT to find the name, is something all of you take for granted >:3

You seemed to have essentially gotten what I intended. In monster a man is set on the path for what he's looking for with a series of fairytales written by the director of the project he's unknowingly investigating. It get's really complex to explain so if you really wanna know what it's about you should probably look it up from a more reliable resource. Not to mention the less you know the less you'll copy.
I completely understand the originality thing, but you gotta start somewhere.
Just to make it clear my main suggestion is using some book or something that could start a trail that leads back to Odyssians and maybe eventually on a grander scale, the secret of the gates.

I like the sound of this. I mean let's face it. It would be harder to track down a paper book then an eletronic book. good way to hide info.

-nod.- now the hard part is finding out the technical aspect. What role would different characters and groups play in this?
I imagine we'd have a skirmish, a first meeting with the Odyissian's perhaps. Enkashi and I already talked of this, I'll have to contact her, (or you, raron as you two appear to be close).

NEED INPUT!
Innnnnnpuuuuut!
Kinda sounds like we could make a war and tear Lucent into two parts. But that's maybe too epic.
BUT I THINK!!
If we just set the ball into motion and let it go from there we'd be fine. We seem to have a good enough handle of where we wanna go as long as everyone knows the plan we should be good to go. Should be.

I think that in the book (whoever, we decide find it) old records of the Odyssians could lead the Angels to seek them out, but before they can someone (A traitor) gives a warning to the Odyssians and they launch their first attack, possibly making an example of an apprentice or ruining a large scale investigation in turn making the Angels look bad, both for having internal problems and failing to do their jobs.
Afterwards the hunt really begins and there could indeed be a lot of fighting over these Odyssians, mysterious and powerful enemies kindle lots of fear and thus tension
how does THAT ring your bell?

plus, if there are more individuals like karanass, Odyssians that were deactivated, they could be reactivated and used, Ospiec could be the traitor, he's a Council agent that infiltrated the guild after all.
stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it !

Fabulous!
Easy to bring in new Odyssians. And we can definitly guess how the Guild might react. Possibly a definite split among the Council.
But you have to ask yourself one thing kid; how would Adeline's gang factor into the whole thing? What do we do about that?

Ooo what if Adie was the first to get the information for the bilbliophile and then some Angel beat it out of her or launched an attack on her.. possibly the traitor with some other young irresponsible Angels.
and maybe after, Adie would seek revenge.
Dunno we'll have to ask her.
Chew on that, sports fans!
(it's corny catchphrase day!)

Adie gets beat up?!!! xD She'll man up.
I dunno, sounds good to me...the whole idea of the odyssians still kind of confuses me, but i never was one for lots of sci-fi technological stuff ^^

The deactivated Odyssians could have no idea of what they are, they could even be Angels, which could lead to the Guild's members having to kill the very ones they love because they turn on them.

Imma just say it here. Oddyssians shouldn't be super human. At least not very. I'd like to see them as well trained militant army folk. Not genetically modified raping machines. Born and raised to fight. Again I'll mention other places cuz I see nothing wring with taking general ideas from other places. The only title I can think of is Dark Angel. With less genetic modification. A private army of a council member. But with that said! It sounds like we got something to work with. As long as Rookums is cool with it then we can get it going. YAY!

I think with the technology in St. Lucent, chemical body modification is feasible, highly dangerous, expensive, and illegal, but feasible.
