Character Name: Lady Ryder Biana Vasser IV of Vasser Estate
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Species/Breed: Gypsy Vanner {horse}
Current Occupation: Council Member, law enforcement critic
Personality:
The last gift her father gave her is a deep patriotism and idealistic view of St. Lucent. Some might believe the death of her father may have resulted in a somewhat traumatic response. She has become a radical patriot hungry for revolution. In her mind the Fowen have corrupted the land and allowed the precious city to stagnate and lose it's true destiny. Peace cannot exist as it is today.
In secret she is strictly against the council and intends to reform the very government St. Lucent has fell upon. Most of her time is spent working towards this end, plotting and scheming for the reformation of St. Lucent. She reads often of St. Lucent and gorges herself on lost information. But for the most part she is a militant set on a forceful takeover. Her motions among the council have found her no friends in her goal but she has no intention to back down.
Ryder is a very opinionated young mare. While she may keep her mouth shut a good amount of the time she is not one to allow her opinion go unheard or unanswered. The pampered princess she was raised as has made her quite a difficult woman to say no to. She will not take no for an answer. One way or another, whether it be money or any other persuasive means she will be given what she wants.
It is unclear if Ryder thinks of anything else or has any interest in making friends let alone keeping them but there is room to suspect that she isn't against the idea though she has yet to make an outward attempt to do so. It would be tough for her to find an equal as she is quite the elitist even so much to regard the council itself as beneath her and the Angels no more then a primitive gang.
Appearance: Ryder is not what you call a pure bred for the breed itself is not pure. It, like many breeds is a derivative of a variety of other, similar breeds. This is achieved through all of histroy via arranged and selective marriages. These contributors all possessed the same overall features. Her build is large and stocky. Her appearance is of strength and grace innate with equines. There is no excess of fat but her muscles form a stocky build. With a lack of physical training she is somewhat thin for her species but is still a great deal larger then most others of her height.
Her coloration is somewhat unusual as she is piebald and for the majority white. Her left ear and a section of neck directly behind it are black and this streaks into her long lush mane. Though unknown to most others a splotch of black is also present on her rear. As is common with piebalds both eyes are a vibrant pale blue.
Her breed boasts a plethora of hair. Both mane and tail are long and lush and complimented by the feathering on her fore arms and lower legs.
As for clothing Ryder often wears the Family uniform. A suit of black with red accents. It is a sight uncommon in Lucent but as such she is quite identifiable. (Thinking Nazi yet? If not you should be.) To most it would seem this is all she ever wears and for the most part it is. It is incredibly rare that anyone would see her in the womanly clothes expected of a woman in her social position. IF she did, however they would most likely be form fitting, black and have red on it somewhere.
Background: The genetic history of Lady Ryder can be traced back for many many years. It's documented all the way back, to before the ice caps melted and all of Catori was engulfed in sea. At that time monarchies ruled sections of inhabitable land. Now, Lady Ryder was not of this blood line. She is not royalty, no, but in the days of primitive battles that still required the use of the Lesser her distant ancestors served as Knights and chancellors to the royal family. They were the ones that made sure the royal family were well protected from opposing armies. But, time passed on and things changed drastically. Eventually the government changed as did the land. No longer did the royal family have it's power but one thing remained constant; the bulk of the Vasser family's assets.
The royal family conceded and moved to what's now the southern part of Julia. Eventually the ties with the royal family withered and the two families became not much more then your average blue bloods. But the Vasser family no longer had a source of income; the royal family couldn't tax anymore. So the head of the house, a Lord Ryder Maurice Vasser the first, Lady Ryder's great grandfather, thought it fitting to make an investment that would ensure the financial stability of the family. Lord Ryder thought this new idea a St. Dwight Lucent was scheming, to be an adequate investment to the family's future.
Lord Ryder partnered and provided financial support for many of this scientist's inventions. Financially the family has been incredibly stable if not making a profit from shares and since then the Vasser family has been a key investor for companies in St Lucent. It is for their sizable contribution that there has always been a seat for a member of the family among the council.
Lady Ryder was born on the estate that has been in the family since Lord Ryder the first moved the family to St. Lucent. Her mother unfortunately died during child birth and her father, being an esteemed member of the council, could not spend the time to care for her. In his stead Lord Ryder the 3rd made sure the girl was well taken care of by his staff.
Lady Ryder's youth was spent in the company and care of servants and has not had friends outside the staff that are employed at the estate. The girl grew and at the age of three she began her education through homeschooling. Lessons consisted not only of those things that are expected for a child to learn but she was also well educated in the rich prestigious history of the Vasser family as is every child that bears the name. As she grew older brief moments were spent with her father whom instilled a deep pride for St. Lucent and the deep heritage the Vasser family has in it. Schooling completed a high school equivalent and continued into college level.
The young girl soon blossomed into a striking young woman and began in her father's footsteps. Her father, for one reason of the other, took to teaching her of his role in St. Lucent. This sparked a desire in the young mare and she chose to major in history. It is unfortunate that it became clear to what purpose he decided to so suddenly take part in his daughter's life. It was not many years until Lord Ryder the third passed away leaving Lady Ryder to inherit his role as head of the family. At the age of 23 she had completed a college degree and was inducted into the Council and has been an awfully quiet member since.
