The Wallside Café had definitely seen better days... There did not seem to be many people there at the moment, or even for the past hour or so. A trio of sailormen sat at a far-off table near the westernmost corner, all speaking loudly as if raging winds lessened their hearing significantly. The only other occupant seemed to be an introverted, teenaged Snow Leopard who sat discretely in a booth on the opposite side of the diner.
The snow cat's silvery-gold eyes stared downcastedly at her reflection in the half-full bubbly drink that stood on the table in front of her. A cold and fizzy soda was usually just the thing she needed to cheer up or calm down... but this time, it did not seem to be doing the trick. She had already gotten two refills, but still no improvement on her mood.
She had entered the Wallside approximately an hour earlier with tears evident in her eyes. Being the crybaby she was, she had somehow over the years come up with a way to keep herself from sobbing loudly when in such a state. It was also not so much of a surprise when she had turned up at this place with a saddened demeanor. Ever since she had been given permission by her parents to leave the house when she had the time, she would come here.
Apparently, the café must have hired a new waiter recently, because the poor guy felt sorry for her and offered her a drink, on him. She gladly accepted and has been sitting in the same spot since, staring into the soda for a good ten minutes. It was almost a shock that there were still some bubbles left in the clear liquid.
What had brought her to this place today was that she had been especially clumsy around some people who she knew were her superiors. Her mentor had left alone for the day, which was usually not a good thing, especially on days when the rich were out-and-about. When Danté had realized who those professionals were, she got flustered and could not keep her mind off of them, resulting in her tripping on a particularly slick surface and falling over into a few tables and chairs. Unfortunately, the Domino Effect took place and the snow leopard could not have been more embarrassed. The higher-ups had given her disapproving looks, where only a couple of them smirked in amusement. Suffice it to say, she began to cry and ran away as quickly as possible to the Wallside.
Her tears, thankfully, had dried, but now she did not know what to do. She was half-afraid that once she left the café, Fate would have her run into one of them, and she would wind up crying all over again.
Danté was tired of crying... at least for the day.
