Roughly fifteen years ago, though no one is really sure, the apocalypse came to earth and tore what we knew to shreds. Demons, Angels and everything in between flodded our world and now, after all the hellfire and the proverbial dust clouds settled, the world as we know it now has been turned upside down, inside out and thrown into the realm of fantasy.
Now, the cause of that apocalypse, a rebel angel, backed by other, still unknown forces, seeks domination of the world with only a small rebel group stalling him. The survivors, and new inhabitants have managed to set up a large settlement on the planets largest mass of still salvageable land. The settlement is known as Krilai, and the land mass, similar to the Pangaea concept, is known as Arcrana.
Here is where The Hallow stalls The Syndicate. Where Rogues make their living helping the highest bidders... or perhaps start a business for personal profit. Where still Loyal angels try to save and redeem; where Demons escape hell, corrupt souls or perhaps, try and live a normal, human life for whatever reason. A place where Humans are low man on the totem pole and try to survive, and where Mutations face more discrimination than any other because of their Half-breed status.
