Shavo awoke early in the morning, Sinatra still fast asleep next to him. He smiled, caressing the fox’s head, before carefully, climbing out of bed. Today, he had business to attend to. He gathered his clothes, showered and dressed quickly, not bothering to dry off all the way. He passed by the room, once more, seeing the fox was sill asleep. He hesitated a moment, before grabbing a pen and piece of paper from the desk in the corner, writing Sin a message, saying he will be back later, if he wasn’t by the time Sin got up. He set the note down on the pillow next to the fox, and hurried out.
It was still dark outside, and a bit chilly. Shavo pulled up his hood, and a muzzle mask he used to hide his identity, but also doubled to keep his face warm. His lavender eyes stared ahead with great intensity. What he was about to do was not the brightest idea in the world, but he really wanted to make an impression. Right now, his objective was in East Lucent, where he would meet a contact for the Foundry, or at least he hoped so…
Thirty minutes later, he got off and made his way through back alleys and side streets to a small, out of the way diner. It was empty, the furre behind the counter seeming to wake up at the sound of the generic bell. Shavo removed his mask and hood, and took a seat at a corner booth, and waited…

It didn't take much longer for the next 'customer' to the diner to enter, a tall white-furred wolf clad in contrastingly dark gray and black clothing, lightly dressed despite the cold. Akiada didn't mind it much, he'd gotten use to it and had thick fur anyways. He gave a quick glance around the diner, quickly ignoring the sole employee and making his way over to Shavo's booth.
My, he's a big one.. Akiada thought to himself, looking his contact over. Even sitting Akiada was sure this fellow was at least a foot taller than himself, if not more, with a powerful body. Another bruiser? he mused, pondering the newbie's role, even though it wasn't decided yet whether he made the grade or not.
"Awful shitty weather today," he commented as he slipped into the booth, sitting opposite of Shavo. "Looks like a Storm is brewing," he added. It was a simple pass-phrase, to make sure he was talking with the right person after all.

Shavo looked up at the white wolf now sitting across from him, studying the canine with his intense lavender eyes. He had hoped that the leader, or at least a lieutenant, would have showed up, but then again, the Foundry was known for it's secrecy. This wolf seemed too young to be in the upper echleons of the Foundry's ranks...
"I'll say," he said after a moment. "You'd think with all the money the Council is sitting on, that they'd be investing it into something useful." The jackal wasn't too sure about what he was supposed to say, but his phone contact told him to just let his guy know that Shavo wasn't the 5-0 or anything.
The diner's owner brought over two menus and a pot of coffee. Shavo sipped the hot brew, waiting for the owner to return to the small television behind the counter, before making eye contact with the wolf. He mouthed the word 'Foundry?'

A slight grin crept across Akiada's muzzle as he nodded, just hinting at the sharp teeth concealed beneath it. He took a sip of his coffee and pondered his next words. "Of course, that's where hard working citizens like you and I come in," he said, keeping up the pretense of the out-loud conversation, though it was soft enough that the owner probably wouldn't be able to make out the details even if he wasn't staring into his TV set. "Doing all our volunteer work to help make this city a better place."
He grinned a bit more, leaning back and relaxing. "Or rather, what you will be doing if you turn out to be suitable for one position or another. Were you thinkin' of anything in particular?"

The jackal gave a quick glance over to the furre behind the counter, who was obviously disinterested in anything except for whatever show he was watching. Shavo smiled then turned back to the wolf across from him. "Well, I'm a furre of many talents. I'm the one you call when you need to get things done." Runner, muscle, escort, even a 'go-fer,' Shavo could and would do it. He leaned forward a bit in his seat, glancing back at the owner. He wondered what the Foundry had in store for him...

"Excellent, flexibility is a very desirable attribute," Akiada replied, grinning toothily now. "Not to judge a book by it's cover, but I take it that you're no stranger to a fight, right?" he asked after a moment's contemplation. "I figure that might be a main occupation for you, lest you have some other talent we need more. Not to say it's what you'll do all the time, of course. People get assigned and reassigned as suits their skills and our needs. I don't spend all my 'volunteer work' doing this, after all..."
He took a sip from the coffee, chuckling a little. "I don't think I could spend that much time sitting on my ass."

The jackal looked away, smiling, rubbing the scar on his upper lip from the rounds of Pack the night before. It was true, he loved the game, but to intentionally fight to hurt someone wasn't exactly his cup of tea... not that he wouldn't or couldn't beat the living hell out of some furre. Growing up on the streets was rough, but Shavo found life was easier when you make alliances instead of enemies.
"Yeah," he said, crackling his knuckles. "I like to throw down at the Pack fights. Gets me a little side income and a little stress relief."

Akiada toothy grin seemed to grow, the wolf abandoning his lazy relaxed position to lean in close. "Really now?" he asked. "I fight in those now and then, and I don't think I've seen you around. We must have kept missing each other."
"I think it'd be fun to see you in action at some point," he continued, leaning back again. "Whether I'm fighting on your team or on the other side."

Shavo smirked in amusement, taking another drink. "We'll have to, won't we?" This wolf character seemed pretty interesting. Unfortunately, the jackal would have to wait until after he got into the Foundry He offered a paw to the wolf. "Name's Shavo, by the way," he glanced off to the side, being wary of the diner owner. "...And I'm really looking forward to joining your cause." Now, what could he do to impress this furre...?

"Nice ta meet ya Shavo, I'm Akiada," the wolf replied, taking the jackal's paw. "And I do believe the feeling is mutual. You seem to have good potential and are enthusiastic. Which is pretty much a requirement in this sort of thing, since those without the conviction to make the cut usually break at the first sign of real trouble."
He returned his attention briefly to his neglected coffee, taking a big sip. "Speaking of conviction, what drove you to search us out anyways?"

"Hmm..." Shavo leaned back in the seat, reminiscing "I guess I was tired of living knowing I could make a difference in the lives of others. I heard stories of how some furres would go out of their way to help others, even with the dictatorship of the Council and overzealous Angels. I wanted to be a part of that."
The jackal laughed a little after a brief silence. "It sounds silly, I know, but it's the truth. I've been chasing you guys for years, trying to get your attention." He looked away, a little embarrassed. He bet he sounded like a little fanboy.

Akiada nodded, smiling a bit. "A good reason if you ask me," he replied after a few moments. "Though, maybe I'm biased. I joined for much the same reasons. Wanted to help out, but didn't much like the official means of doing that." He shrugged a bit.
"I think you'll fit in nicely," he added after a few moments of silence.

Shavo tried hard to hide the smile forming on his narrow muzzle. He had his time in the light, now. He had best not blow this... "Right, then... Let's talk business. What can I do to prove myself useful to the Foundry?" He leaned forward in his seat. "Name it, and I'll do it without complaint." He was serious, too.

Akiada nodded a bit, rubbing his chin thoughtfully as he tried to think up an appropriate task. "Alright," he said after a few moments. "There aren't many jobs that need doing right now, so what I think will suffice is if the Pack fight serves to prove your capability. We'll test your ability in other fields as good opportunities to do so come up. I'm sure we'll need something run somewhere before too long."

(OOC: Ricter is going to be joining us shortly)
Shavo nodded thoughtfully. "Sounds good. There's supposed to be another fight at Angelo's tonight." The jackal stretched after taking another sip of coffee. "Well, unless you want to get something here, how about we take a little walk?"
At the same time, Shavo felt his phone vibrate inside his jacket. He unzipped his jacket, then another picket on the inside and retrieved his phone. He had one new text message... from Ricter. "Hmm..." he said quickly replacing his phone amid his personal arsenal of hidden weapons. "Come on."
