Character Name: Adelaide Strange
(Del, even Lady or Lai will work though she might get a big miffed - call her Laide though, and she'll knock your teeth out.)
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Species/Breed: Canis lupus baileyi & Canis lupus albus (Mexican grey wolf & Eurasian Arctic wolf)
Current Occupation: Fledgling Angel - Recon, Quick Strikes, that sort of thing. Guerilla tactics are your friend!
Personality: Adelaide is, actually, kind of friendly. She's not a stomp around in heavy boots and intimidate everyone type of girl. Though she can be when it's needed. She's the type that will chat it up with her fellow angels, disrespectful of the divisions between specialties, though she respects rank properly… for the most part. Sometimes her mouth will run away with her.
Generally she's sharp of wit, though she's had her moments of complete dead brain, and is as likely to be the last one laughing as the first, much less the joke maker. She does have a nasty tendency to play pranks, but it's mellowed over her years in the Angels. Military life isn't exactly the smile upon practical jokes type of atmosphere.
Adelaide also possess and adverse sense of curiosity. She'll be the first to tell you it killed the cat, and then turn around and enter a mysterious dark room all by herself. Luckily enough for her, she's got a good sense of self preservation that makes her brain kick into overdrive in dangerous situations, so she's usually capable of getting herself out of the messes she gets herself into. Being quick on her feet helps too. Which is why Adelaide is interested in the sneaky jobs.
Interesting to note, she doesn't seem to possess a conscience. Dumping dead bodies is A-Ok, 'cause everyone has to die sometime, and someone's got to dispose of the bodies. Right?
Appearance: Adelaide is around five feet and four inches tall. She weighs much more than a person would suspect, though, even with a thick coating of fur. Weighing in around one hundred and sixty pounds, Adelaide is the carrier of a surprising about of stringy muscle. Her fur actually doesn't add much to her bulk, as her coat it a bit smoother than that of other breeds. It is dense enough, however, to help mitigate some of the cities perpetual cold.
The fur around Adelaide's neck and the back of her head, is a bit a longer than usual, especially under the jaw, and like the rest of her fur, not fluffy. The fur under her chin and down her neck, and really down the rest of her body to her thighs, is white, fading to grey around the edges. Around her nose and eyes the fur is a muted sort of brown, with a muted black running from her nose up the middle of her face to fan out into a sort of grey/black mask.
The rest of her body is made up in much the same pattern, with a strong mixtures of greys, some white, and a few muted shadings of brown and black. Though mostly grey and white.
Her eyes are a sort of hazel. A combination of green, the usual wolf amber, and brown. Her identification tattoo is on the back of her neck.
Background: Adelaide Strange comes from a long line of unimpressed citizens. Sure, most of them didn't like the way things were being run, but none of them did anything about it, for better or worse. Until Adelaide came along. Life seemed to have no purpose, other than running the cold streets of St. Lucent and sitting through endless classes.
So, Adelaide decided to do something more. To learn something more. Aside from general need of a purpose in life, Adelaide had a need to figure out what went on behind the scenes. What were the Angels and the Council real about? And what was going on with the Hour Glass Guild? Questions, questions. And the only way to get answers was to get in with those she wanted to know about. So Adelaide joined the Angels… finding that being a member of the Council would probably be tedious. Having to cater to all those people. Endless debating and discussion. It just wasn't her thing. Action however… Del could handle action. She was one hell of a scrapper after growing up with four brothers.
So Adelaide joined the ranks of the Angels… and found herself dealing with more school. Which was alright, since there was also training to go along with it. Classrooms were so boring! Unless they were chemistry, because then you could blow things up. On accident of course.
For Adelaide, the greatest thing she could sacrifice for the Angels were her family, who had been, well, her family, for most of her life. The most important people in her life. She also gave up her friends and enemies, laying aside all those she'd know before the Angels. It was better than sacrificing something that might hamper the job, right?
