Canon? Nope.
Character Name: Cornelius Leonidus
Gender: Male
Age: Early seventies
Species/Breed: Purebred lion
Current Occupation: Council member
Personality: Cornelius is a stern man who despises all things whimsical. He seemed to have a bit of a rebellious streak in his youth (read Background), though this has long since been quelled. He shares the traditional Leonidas obsession with pure blood, and is racist against hybrid creatures. He is a high-ranking member of the Council and often uses his power to intimidate people. He will not stand for insolence. He has a strong disliking for any kind of theatre; he feels that it a waste of time and that people should have better things to do than watching actors prance around a stage.
Appearance: Tall and lean, Cornelius's skin is coated with a fine and sleek layer of golden hair. His hair is very similar to a lion's mane; it is long and thick, ususally tied back in a ponytail. Said mane has begun to gray as the years pass, salt and pepper streaks now tainting its auburn hue. He often dresses formally, though never ostentatious; his suits are all drab shades of gray. He carries a long silver cane, the head of which is a lion's head that holds in its open jaws a diamond the size of a golfball. His eyes are sharp and pale silver in color.
Background: The Leonidas family has long been known for its obsession with purity. Cornelius was born into a manor full of lifeless portraits of Leonidas family members throughout the ages, all bearing the striking leonine features for which the family is also renowned. As a boy, Cornelius attended Winterwood's Academy for Boys, a prestigious elementary through high school institution that provides first-class education for only the sons of the priviledged, and pure, elite.
Cornelius continued on to Elterre University, yet another name on the lengthy list of expensive and snobby schools that reside in St. Lucent. At the age of twenty-two, on his father's advice, Cornelius began courting Claudia Bunberry, the daughter of equally well-off and purebred ancestry that was ten years older than himself. The two were married when Cornelius was twenty-four. His father died shortly after due to heart problems, and Cornelius inherited the company shipping business.
Needless to say, the Leonidas family was often seen in newspapers across St. Lucent. The family was constantly under the public eye. Therefore, it didn't take long for reporters to uncover Cornelius's connection with a local prostitution ring. He was revealed to be one of the company's most loyal customers, thus earning him the rather unfortunate nickname "Horny Corny."
After the embarassing scandal, Cornelius began to lie low. He made his way onto the Council, taking the seat of his father, his father's father and so on. He began to build a reputation as a powerful citizen, therefore halting any comments on his personal life. Any reporter that dared to drop the alias "Horny Corny" was immediately fired.
When Cornelius was fourty-eight, his wife died from health complications. His mourning seemed short-lived; he was back on board the Council and the shipping company within a week.
At the age of fifty-five, Cornelius handed the shipping company down to his cousin, Jorgin. He announced his retirement from the business industry, though made it clear that he intended to keep his seat on the Council.
