Aurora Industries
Aurora Industries consists of three buildings, all different in every aspect. The first and larger building is a large dome of strangely colored glass and delicate strands of steel. This is where the magic happens. All research and manufacturing goes on here. The medium sized building is made of the same strangely colored glass and delicate strands of steel, but is shaped and has the same awe inspiring feeling as large uncut diamond. The last building is the smallest, but the more in tune with nature. It is terraced like an ancient pyramid and has different levels for specific purposes. This building is for the company’s recreational activities and daycare. All of the buildings are connected by a bullet train snaking around the lower sections.
Polar Dome:
Main floor: Here is where most of the sweat happens. There is a complicated maze of wires, metal, and sparks winding into its self. Sometimes new workers get lost, so the floors are painted different colors for each section of manufacturing. The more experienced workers merely laugh and use their Keyxi to find their way to the bathroom. There are many sections to this mess of lines and fantasy as well as many branches. The main product lines have to do with Micro-Tech, Bio-Chem, and Keyxi software, though there are other smaller product lines that Aurora Industries are dabbling.
“Breakthrough” floor: This floor is where the Keyxi was developed by Collins and his “dream team”. Here, more futuristic research is done by an even larger group. Some offices also are here, mostly for those who demand to be near their work.
Stellar floor: So named due to its amazing view of both the stars above, Saint Lucent, and the ocean horizon beyond the Gates. It is breathtaking and most frequently occupied by the staff. This floor has a mess hall and a wraparound balcony.
Diamond Center:
Main floor: The main floor is organized by the strangely colored glass walls and neat little offices. In each room there is an office with a secretary guarding entrance to the elevator, which in turn leads to the office of some important person above. Only the secretaries have their offices down here, and to get to the second floor, where the real power is, you have to get through their elusive answers and aggressive smiles. In the center of the main floor, there is a snack station, stocked with anything that the employees could possibly request. Bathrooms are on the second level.
Second level: Once you have made your way past the ever diligent secretaries and the elegant but slow elevators with their maddeningly peaceful music, you have made your way to a chaotic part of Aurora Industries. Each elevator is connected to a specific office. In each office there is a bathroom, equipped with a small shower, a desk made of the same strangely colored glass and delicate strands of steel as the building itself, a couch and three comfortable chairs, a place to set up any Keyxi hardware necessary, and whatever individual necessities needed by the individual. The walls in between the offices are made of the special glass, though the colors are distorted by the micro-cams so as to give privacy, and soundproof as well. There are straight yet narrow hallways connecting all offices. Only three offices, however, have another elevator which connects to Collins office, and these are given to people whom he trusts.
Mr. Collins office: The highest floor is only the size of three of the regular offices on the floor below. It also has a clear and breathtaking view of the stars above, Saint Lucent, and the ocean horizon. There is also a large platform where Collins parks his hover craft every day. One third of the floor is dedicated to Collins’ assistant, decorated however the certain assistant at the time wishes to have it. The majority of the room is a wall of filing cabinets and a large workstation. Besides that, his office is set up and decorated as the offices below.
Magnolia Obelisk:
Sequoia terrace: This floor is composed of all sorts of restaurants and small shops. Though one would think it would be overly noisy, people keep to a low murmur as they relax either alone or with a friend in between shifts or on a lunch break. The walls are made with the same technology as the other two buildings were, but are made of thick and soft clothe instead. In the background there is numbing music for those without the benefit of a Keyxi.
Clary terrace: Basically, this floor is a large spa. Here soothing scents overtake your senses as gentle music plays. There are sections for napping, massages, pedicures and manicures, soaking in a Jacuzzi, an outside sauna, a steam room, and even dental services. All of it dedicated to ensuring the happiness and stress free environment of Aurora Industries staff.
Mint terrace: Here is the floor wholly dedicated to the fitness of the staff. There is a swimming pool, weight room, dance room, aerobic room, bike room, yoga room, and locker room for both males and females. Every morning there are classes being held, but the rest of the day is for the individual’s decision. There is no music played on this floor, except in the dance room, due to complaints on the distraction they caused. Instead of the walls being the material texture and look, they have the same texture and sight as mirrors.
Burdock terrace: This floor is generally for herbal treatments that are given by doctors to patients who have minor health problems such as hair loss, poor skin, bad breath and stomach problems. The doctors are thorough and incredibly clever in diagnosing problems and treating the patients. The room has the sound of birds and small waterfalls, and smells of a multitude of herbs. This is due to their large outside balcony where they grow their own garden and feed the local birds.
Mimosa terrace: Here is the floor designated as a daycare for the children whose parents work at Aurora Industries and are too young for school. There are colorful tubes made of the same type of strange glass along the walls, much like a hamster playground gone wild. All around there are places for games and fun, with no sense of organization as the rest of the floors in any of the buildings. There is even an anti-gravity room where kids can safely rough house and have pillow fights on large bouncy balls. The rooms all have sing-a-long songs playing and smell like candy and baby powder.
