Wondering on a few things

This is a really nice site. Been awhile since I've come across something of this calibur. I've been reading over some things and I'm considering joining up. But, before I join, I have a few questions I'd like to ask first.

First off, this is a sci-fi based site and all the characters are some type of anthro. What I was wondering was, are the species limited to only realistic animals such as wolves and birds? Or are fantasy animals such as griffon furries and dragon furries or even made up species allowed. Pray so long as they make sense for the plot though.

Second question. I know this might sound a little...odd but its concerning the names of characters. I know names are a very important part of any character but on here it seems to be a bit more pronounced. Could a character's names perhaps be something which is made up of two or more words instead of an actual name? For example. Could a character have an unusual last name such as Blackfire? Or even for a first name? Also on this note, are there certain names that are banned from use? As in, names used by characters from an anime? I ask this because I just have a particular liking for the name Alucard. No I wouldn't be anthro morphing Alucard from Hellsing I just like the name for a male character.

Third question. Aging. Once again I know this mind sound a bit stupid but I feel the need to ask. Seeing as this is all fantasy, is it possible for characters to have a life span longer than a human's? Per say, if one had a dragon anthro...dragons are known in mythology to live for hundreds of years if not thousands of years. Could a dragon anthro be 200 years old?

I have a few more questions but I shall await to ask them. Once I recieve a response back to these questions I shall post my other questions depending on what answers I recieve. Sorry, don't want to over load you with too many questions at once.

Heya there, SinSin the Councilor or just Sinnie-Poo as Vesp calls me here, responding to your questions! I'm pretty new myself, but I think I could answer your questions!

Now then, for number one! You are able to make mythical species. I'm not 100% sure to this, as I've only seen crossbreeds of Dragons, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to make thoroughbred Dragons and Griffon... though, I guess it wouldn't be for a griffon, would it?! BAHAHAHAHA. Forced Laugh. NEXT QUESTION!

Question deux! For names, as far as it goes, I think it's just a matter of having a first, and last name to make the character. I mean, my main character's name is Sinatra, and you don't exactly hear that every day, do ya?! Plus, this is kinda like real-life, just walking, talking animals. So I guess that by legal age, you'd also be able to change your name. So yes, Blackfire, could be a last name. Now for names from Animés and such? I've been on other Role-Playing sites where you can take the first name of the animé person, and use it as your, own, so I suppose you could do it here as well.

Question trois! Ageing, you say? Well, I suppose since you do try to tie it to the species as much as you can (Fennec Foxes and Bats having better hearing than normal, Bloodhounds with a super sense of smell, etc. etc.), a Dragon should be able to have a slight increase in life span. I mean, they have thick near indestrucible scales, so I wouldn't think that their life span would increase to twice of a nomal furs...

One thing I wish to clearify about species before another staff member responds to my questions.

Custom created species, not a blend of two fantasy creatures...but an entirely new species. That is what I dearly wish to use. There is a species created by a friend of mine on Deviantart. Freakzter. She created this amazing species [or at least I think its amazing...well me and the rest of the club members XD] called phscyoraptors. I've spoken to her before about using her creation in an rpg. She said so long as I stick as true to her creation as possible and give her full credit then I am allowed to use it in an rp.

I have a link to all the info on the species if you wish to see it. However some of the info shall need altering to fit the site. I can do that.

One last note.

I was reading some character bios, trying to get a feel for what is acceptable and what is not. I read in the leader of the Founds' bio that she came to the city when her ship wrecked on the cliffside.

Could it be possible I have my character end up in the city through traveling from an outside land?

Rookums is busy but these answers have been passed down from her.

Sinnie-poo is indeed correct in his answers. You can make characters based off well known mythical creatures but only those of true mythology. So dragons and gryphons are go, but your friend's creature is a no go--as neat as it is. If you choose this route then Rookums would like you to pm her with documentation of the race to allow her to clear it. This also goes for your friend's creature.

If you really want something like your friend's character and Rookums says no try and hybridize several species with those traits. Any currently existing or previously existing creature is at your disposal so it's quite possible. We do have an ankylosaur here too!


Names can be made up entirely. Rookums said Alucard Blackfire is fine. I believe that the only stipulation in relation to anime is that they aren't clones. Which should be easy I would also note that Alucard--whether initially heard from an anime or not-- is a name used in fiction far before the anime Hellsing came around.

Aging is much as Sinnie-poo described in that ages correlate somewhat to species but aren't nearly as drastic. Dragons may live 30-40 years longer then the average furr.

Finally! Yes you can come from somewhere other then Lucent. I have a character from the mountains of Julia. But your character would also have to come from a pre-existing country. There's a map of Catori (The planet) in the information section. It's late and I need to go to bed otherwise I'd link you to it.

Alright thank you for the help^^ I decided on using Crinos as Alucard's last name instead...it just seemed to have a better ring to it.

Okay as far as the species is concerned if the phsycoraps don't fly then I can easily hiberdize a few creatures together to get something similar. The raps are, in the most basic of all basic forums...a cross between a wolf and a dragon XD...thats what they look like to an extent. Though some people simply say they look like a normal dino rap but with fur instead of scales. They're not a g-modding race of creature or anything, just some cool creatures -lolz-

Anyways, I shall send both you and Rook a copy of the info on the species so you may look it over then^^
