Micah observed the rows of books and shelves before stepping closer, almost fearfully. In truth he was not a naturally nervous chap, but the ideas he had been having recently were terrifying him with their implications. Still, he would have nothing to fear until he was sure that…performing such an abomination was possible. He chuckled weakly, even after all these years; research on the matter had just stopped, for the scientist had given in the needs of the people who cried out against their loved ones dying in vain. They pushed it aside, after all, their loved ones were dying as well, and soon the concept began to gather dust like a story told too many times to a restless child. Micah made a fist with his paw, to be so close, and then give up, he knew the feeling. Well, the scientist would have no other choice now, if he was right, it would be the only chance they had at naming the Gates. Just the thought of the terror in Delilah’s eyes whenever she dreamed of them made him stiffen his spine. He knew like a good little Angel, the Gates had to be appeased soon, or hell would soon break loose. Not that he was anything close to an Angel.
Pushing the hesitation that came with these thoughts to the back of his mind, Micah stepped into the Red Pavilion and made his way to a terminal. He quickly had his brain-waves scanned to turn the terminal on, though rather uncomfortable with the thought that he could be traced through the terminal, and began searching the databases for specific books he thought might be useful. Finding them surprisingly rapidly, almost as if they had been recently ordered, he downloaded the digital version on his Keyxi so he could read them easier. ((Note: the Keyxi technology is a micro-computer that picks up transmissions and deciphers them on a one way screen on your specialized contacts, creating a double view, or ghost vision. Depending on the software downloaded onto the hard-drive, which is left at one’s home but transmits only to your micro-computer unless you are hacked, there are multiple things you are able to do; such as reading the heat waves in the area, storing books, music, etc. So far the memory is very tiny because of the transmissions problem, and the software expensive, but it is very light-weight and useful in sticky situations.))
Finishing this, Micah made his way over to a bench that was in a particularly sunny spot and began reading the first book while listening to a music that stimulated brain waves. After skimming over the rest of the books, Micah gave a large stretch and yawn. Blinking rapidly three times, he turned off his screen and blinked at how dim the light had been compared to the pages he had just been viewing. Sniffing the chilled air, Micah’s belly rumbled in protest against being fed neither lunch nor breakfast. Giving a sigh, he made his way over to an instant-meal-machine and ordered roasted nuts with boysenberry sauce and a side of fill-pills. Gathering his food, he returned to the comfort of the bench and began to leisurely eat his meal. After thoroughly enjoying his food, for it was not often that he had a day off with nothing to do, he blinked three times in rapid succession to turn on his screen. Deciding that he should enjoy the rest of his day and return to his troubling research the next day, Micah opened up his files on porn and relaxed into a more comfortable position…
