The young lizard stretched, the lean muscles along his side twisting and popping as he yawned widely. Boomy was dressed for the occasion, though he looked strange for being outdoors in the bitter cold once you realized what he was doing you understood. The reptile was dressed for maneuverability, only basic heat generators implanted in his clothes preventing him from freezing up.
Boomy normally only used his skyboard for transport in the winter, as it was to cold for him. Like most reptiles he got sluggish in the cold, but this winter had gone on far to long. It didn't look like it was going to warm up soon either. So Boomy was going stir-crazy. So he hopped on his board, pulling down the googles he constantly wore. A broad grin on his scaly face.
He spent his time warming up on the little ramps for a bit, trying to get his "groove" back as he liked to call it. He worked his way up, till he was on one of the biggest ramps in the park. Another person in the park stopped boarding to watch wide-eyed as the lizard soared up into the air till he was perpendicular to the ground. He grabbed the front end of the board hitting the off switch... He flipped the board round, spinning it in a wild orbit as he free fell back towards the ground, Boomy's left foot kicked the board down , turning in on in the process, back underneath him and he landed perfectly. A swish of his long tail to help him keep his balance.
The lizard frowned, the cold was still making him sluggish...

Ess was, as always, stalking the skyboard scene from the background at the Skypark. If she couldn't actually board, at least she could watch; that's how she'd reasoned with herself when she'd sacrificed such a large part of her life to the Angels. One hand brushed against her tool belt, repositioning a fancy-looking wrench so that it wouldn't fall from its pocket. She never took off her mechanic tools, ever. They were as much apart of her as the bushy tail that spouted out of her jeans.
A slight shiver tremored down her spine; it was cold. Ess was layered in a few sweatshirts, but the biting chill still managed to weasel its way to her flesh. She refused to purchase the bulky jackets and such that most Lucians wore; it was out of pure habit that she avoided all thick clothing. It interfered with a skyboarder's flexibility of motion, you see. She didn't like to be restrained, even if she was never going to skyboard again.
Her gaze focused on a showy gecko that wooshed past, an almost invisible nod of approval offered as he passed her. The boy was good. Her brow wrinkled slightly as he used his tail to adjust himself; she'd never favored that method. Even though she had a wagger of her own, not all furres did. She considered it an uneven advantage in competitive play but right now, the kid was just playing around.
But maybe he wasn't a kid. Squinting slightly, Ess realized the lizard probably wasn't much younger than herself. As he seemingly paused to concentrate, she found herself gravitating towards him. Feeling a slight blush creep to her cheeks (damn it) she cleared her throat in an attempt to grasp his attention. "You're pretty good," she observed in cool tones. That was an understatement, but she didn't want to sound like some freakish fangirl.

Boomy wasn't surprised when someone approached him. It was fairly often that people came up to him either spectators in awe or more serious folk asking if he skyboarded professionally. The answer was a definitive no. Why? He never thought himself good enough, and the competition of the professional world was vicious. You're pretty good," the girl seemed nice enough. He pulled up his goggles with a charming grin "Thanks, name's Boomy." He extended a gloved fist to tap against hers in a friendly manner. Once a skyboarder always a skyboarder, Boomy's board always brought up his cheerful if laidback mannerisms. Something was oddly familiar about the hybrid girl he felt like he should know who she was... "Wait a second...YOUR ESS!" his jaw dropped, and his blue tongue even hung out a little as the excited lizard realized who he was talking too. "Your that skyboard builder..." He suddenly scratched at the back of his head awkwardly. He was still standing atop his board which was hovering about 2 feet off the ground so he was towering over her.
"Erm, I sort of customize boards too." He hopped down from his skyboard to pull the bright red thing into his arms to show her. "See! The stabilizers are all my own and I put a stronger engine in it. Lesse...what else" The talkative lizard continued to babble, not noticing if Ess was listening or not.
