Character Name: Raziel "Razor" Selphen

Personality: Razor, for one, is mute. It was the thing he gave up to become an angel. He used to talk a lot. Now everything he wants to say is written down on a small pad of paper he keeps with him at all times. He's one of those types of people that kind of just melt into the background. He's very curious, and always wants to know why things work, not just how. He gets his nickname from his razor-sharp instincts and mind. If you ask him how to start a fire, he'll explain that, plus how to keep it going, its uses, etc. He's generally found with his nose in a book at the library or even the gardens. He's also a bit of a packrat. If he finds something interesting, be it a shiny stone or an old note found on the street, he'll keep it and try to decipher everything he can about it. He's also very sensitive to being teased and picked on, so he tends to keep to himself or hang around older people.
Appearance: Razor is very tall and thin, standing at about 6' 4" but usually walks kind of hunched over, making him seem shorter. He usually wears a long-sleeved button-up shirt of some sort and black khaki pants with a lot of pockets. His fur is mostly orangish-red in color but parts of his face are white, along with a white stripe running down his back to the tip of his tail. His feet, hands and underside are all black. On the back of his neck is the Angels tattoo, contrasting sharply with the red of his fur.
On his face is a mask made of some sort of metal, covering his mouth and wrapping around his head. It's to make people aware that he can't speak. His eyes are a dark, soft grey-blue color. He also wears a tiny silver star imbedded with diamonds on a silver chain around his neck.
Background: Razor was born not long after the death of his cousin Tendra's parents. His parents were always telling him about how she didn't deserve to live. It was always being put into his head how the Mercazi clan thought they were better than his family. They explained to him that it was in his blood to get rid of Tendra. Razor, being young at the time, was excited at the prospect of being able to destroy and kill, as most young boys tend to be.
His parents sent him to school, where he was picked on and made fun of for always reading, calling him "teachers pet" and other mean names that children tend to come up with. He still gets teased sometimes. At one point, he even wanted all of them to die. He managed to get a job part-time at the library, to use up the free time he used to plot their demises.
Turns out the library is a good place to learn about the going-ons of the city. He heard about Boulder and Tendra, and he wondered why anyone would want to take care of her. That is, until he was running an errand late one night. He took a shortcut through an alley and almost ran right into a Mercazi. Luckily, he managed to keep from getting seen and hid. There he witnessed the murder of Boulder.
There he learned how terrible death was. In fact, witnessing the gruesome murder was too much for him to even mention. It made him join the Angels, giving up his voice and contact with all his family except Tendra. Soon after he joined, he sent a letter to his cousin, explaining what he saw and how sorry he was. In return, she sent him the necklace he never takes off, as a sign of truce between the two.
