So... cold. Least it's slowing bloodflow... and giving me frostbite... and making me feel weak. There, the lights of the hospital... not much further now.
Athos walked slowly toward the community hospital's entrance, hoping they would have an at least partially competent team of doctors in the middle of the night. If not, well, he made a long walk only to collapse and die in some waiting room probably.
His blue outfit was torn and had bloodstains on the sleeves, the back, and a few drips down the front of his shirt and on his collar. Athos kept walking, focusing on the door ahead of him as he spat the metallic taste out of his mouth along with a fair amount of blood. His back had... he wasn't sure how many exactly but it felt like four or five pieces of glass stuck in him through his thick coat. Hard to say really when the chill night air was numbing his senses and he couldn't exactly see his back right now. Athos wiggled a loose fang in his mouth and the gap beside it where he had been hit in the face, sucking on a busted lip.
Only a few dozen steps away from the entrance and a nurse who happened to have been on a smoke break saw him. "Oh my god, are you alright?" Athos paused in his weary shuffle and stared at her, wishing he could laugh without practically coughing up a lung. "Do I look like I'm alright? Yeah, that glass is supposed to be there and blood stains are a new fashion statement, you should try it."
Feeling terribly admonished and ashamed of herself the nurse helped Athos in as gingerly as possible to the hospital, calling over two doctors and expressing that he looked like an urgent case. Some guy in the waiting room holding a cloth to his nose got up and started swearing at everyone. "Hey, I been sitting here for over an hour, why's he getting to go right in?"
Athos turned to the man and flipped him off. "You want to go first? Be my guest, lemme just break that nose of yours if it isn't already, then a few other bones in your body. See if you're urgent enough then. Shut the hell up and sit down, you aren't gonna die."
The first thing his doctors wanted to know was what exactly happened and how he got his injuries. "Get the glass out of me first, then I can tell you what happened." after a while when the doctors reassured him his back had been sewn up and the glass removed(waiting shirtless while doctors had to basically sew you together again not being anywhere close to his top ten most enjoyed hobbies) Athos lay down and took as deep a breath as he could manage. "My house was broken into. I was attacked, beat up, and shoved out a window. Got a good look at my attacker though, but he got my wallet and probably anything else of value in my home. So you gonna call anyone or what? And how's my shirt doing, any chance you can get those blood stains out and stitch it up?"

A white rabbit in a light blue hospital gown ran down the corridor, yelling at, very near, the top of his lungs. "Wait! Wait! Wait! Please come back! Why do you keep running away?!!!"
After a bit more running, he slowed to a walk, not used to the physical exertion it put him through. Any other person walking behind him would notice that there was absolutely no real person to chase after. However, Gabriel wasn't looking for any real person...he was trying to catch up to the bathroom.
He was in the hospital for his normal psychological checkups and had woken up in the middle of the night with the intense urge to urinate. However, upon seeing the bathroom, it ran away from him. This brings us back to the present time, with Gabriel running after the bathroom, to no avail.
Again he saw it! He started up again, running, running, running. Wait! Where'd it go? Did it just enter that room down the hall? Gabriel had to go see. It must have been an odd sight for the occupants of the room when a 44 year old seraphim angel blustered into the hospital room asking if they'd seen the bathroom.
"It either passed by here, or came to hide, Doctor, I swear! Are you sure it's not in here?"
Gabriel peered around the doctor's arms, which were pinning him from entering into the room any farther. It was then that he saw the bloody snake. "Oh," the rabbit said, a bit disheveled, "My apologies, I didn't mean to burst in like this. However, I really must know: has the bathroom passed by here recently? I mean, I have a very intense need to urinate, but the damn toilet keeps evading me. I'm unsure whether or not I can hold out much longer..."
"There you are!" another, female, voice yelled out as a slim weasel came rushing into the room. Dana normally kept an eye on Gabriel the entire time, but she was supposed to have time to sleep, and Gabriel never normally went on trips in the middle of the night looking for runaway bathrooms. It was a wonder she was able to be so alert so quickly. She was still bleary eyed as she glared at the rabbit who was twice her age.
"Here, I'm so sorry," she apologized to everyone present in the room, taking the rabbit's arm. "It's just, for the tests they've had to keep him off of many of his medications and..." but she was cut off as the Gabriel interrupted again.
"But Dana, my dear! We can't just leave without having yet caught the bathroom!"
The girl smiled apologetically and continued to try and pull the rabbit out of the room.

Athos had no idea how to react at first. Well, yes, he did. And it went something like this in his head... luckily not spoken aloud though. "OMGWTFHOLYSHIT!!! This guy's crazy!" Then Athos had to pause for a moment, realizing that many people would usually take one look at his outfit and call him crazy, or what he'd been through would seem a bit insane. "I think it paused around the corner... saw it there not too long ago."
He wondered what kinds of tests the strange man must be going through, and pitied the apparent caretaker girl. Still, he had problems of his own right now and wasn't exactly in the greatest of positions to be helping with anything. "It'd be nice to have a visitor, especially if either of you knows how to sew. And these doctors won't get any of the Angels here so I can explain what happened." Some of the injuries on his back were still bleeding a little despite being mostly bandaged and closed up. Now that he was over the initial recovery, Athos was able to focus on what else hurt. His ankle and wrist were a bit sore, probably from the landing. Only other thing that was really bruised had to be his ego, being attacked in his own home really sucked.

Gabriel's long ears swivelled towards the snake's voice. "Around the corner? Are you sure?!" He looked around fleetingly, then back at the snake as he spoke again. "Well, ol' chap, if it went around the corner before I got here, then it's long gone by now. Well, that's unfortunate. I don't get many visitors meself, just bunches and bunches of doctor's coming in here and there asking about the Gates and what I know and how's my mind, and you know chap? I don't have any bloody idea of what they're talking about! I mean, just because..."
"Gabriel!" Dana cried out, shushing the rabbit immediately. "Don't talk about that sort of thing! Remember what the others said? No!" she cried as Gabriel nodded and went to answer obediently, "Don't say it! You must learn to keep your mouth closed about these things."
She nodded at the snake. "I can sew alright, but I better get him back to bed before anything else...I'm very sorry about the interruption, but I'll take him back to his room, get him situated, and then come back to help you out if that's okay."
She smiled apologetically, but Gabriel refused to leave. "I want to stay! This chap seems nice enough. I won't let anything slip at all. I won't say anything about me period...except my name of course." Wrenching his hand from Dana's, he offered it to the snake. "I am Gabriel Mentioff, Seraphim of the Hourglass Guild."
Dana shook her head hopelessly. How could she keep him under control when he was liable to burst out such secrets so easily? She was, however, resigned to stand there and watch as Gabriel loosened his leash bit by bit.

Athos took Gabriel's hand with a smile. No matter how crazy he may be, at least he had a will of his own and still knew his name. "Athos. Pleasure to meet you. And you're welcome to stay here with me in this hospital room long as you like, better company than a bunch of men in white coats trying to act like they know everything right? Oh, I guess I should mention how I got here though. Someone broke into my place and attacked me, shoved me out the window. Big fella, strong, and I'm pretty sure I saw metal on him somewhere, or something shiny anyway. No idea why I was attacked or if whomever it was might be after me though. Figured it only fair to warn you someone might be after me."
Gabriel didn't seem like a bad sort. Certainly not the kind of person that attacked him. And it might be nice to have a Seraph as a friend... or maybe hear something interesting. Turning his attention to Dana, Athos gave a little smile. "Guess I should probably take the bloody shirt off if you're going to sew, right? Sorry for any inconvenience, not like I planned tonight."

Dana nodded curtly at Athos as she told one of the nurses to find a sewing kit. The shirt was so bloody though that the weasel didn't know if it would even be worth sewing if it was just going to stay stained. "I am Dana, by the way, Mr. Athos. Gabriel is my charge, and I intend that nothing happen to him."
She didn't hold her hand out; she was merely Gabriel's caretaker, not anyone to be making personal relationships.
Gabriel, on the other hand, opened his eyes wide in shock. "Some one attacked you?! Oh me oh my...that is not good at all! Dana!" he exclaimed, turning to the girl. "We must alert the guild at once, musn't we? The attacker is described as big, strong, and having one or more metal body parts or armor."
Dana looked over at the rabbit as the nurse handed her a needle and thread. "Gabriel, it is 2:00 in the morning. Do you really think this is necessary? There is almost nothing to go off of of any sort. You know that the members of the guild that you know would never concern themselves with petty robberies."
However, she was resigned to turn back to the snake. "Before you staggered here, Mr. Athos, were you able to check and see if there was anything missing at all?

"Well, I was able to tell my door is now missing its hinges as well as a fair amount of the actual door, and I'm pretty certain I'm now short one window save the pieces that have been taken out of me. Took a quick look back to know if I was being chased right away or not, guy didn't even come to the window to look down at me. So best guess is the stranger was still looting my place. Didn't hear much as I was getting away, just some frustrated grunts. Definitely wasn't an ordinary break-in though, you don't do that when someone just got home."
He didn't know what to expect when he did return home, other than a mess and hopefully an armed escort with him in case said assailant was still waiting back there. One time when he lived at another location there was a homeless man that broke in and fell asleep on his couch, but nobody had ever splintered the door and thrown him out by force like that. "He better not touch my wardrobe. You have any idea how hard it is to find a nice fabric you actually like, that feels comfortable in your size, and have it the right shade of blue to match what you want? Takes forever to track those down, or plain white and the appropriate colors to dye your own."

Dana nodded as she started stitching up the ruined clothing while Gabriel kind of just stood around uncomfortably, shifting from one leg to the other.
"I'm really very sorry to interrupt," he said hastily, "but I really need to find that bathroom...I have an intense urge to urinate and I fear I must do so quickly." As he continued to hop around, a nurse took him by the arm and brought him to the bathroom in Athos's room, where, after exclaiming aloud at the wonder of finally finding the bathroom, he relieved himself loudly and copiously.
Dana pretended she couldn't hear it. "You say it wasn't an ordinary break-in...Is there anything, anything at all that you think anyone would want to take from you?"
(sry it's sooooooooo short!)

"Nothing I'm aware of. I did start a new job recently, maybe they were looking for my money or thought maybe I brought something home from work. If they were hoping for either of those, then they'd be disappointed though."
It really didn't matter to Athos what the stranger had wanted, he hoped everything would still be in one piece at home but knew that was probably asking too much. "Thanks for helping me with the shirt. I just wish I could have put up an actual fight for the guy, hate to lose like that. Hate even more not having a weapon around to stop people like that. Ah well, not much I can do from a hospital bed, even less I can do when I'm nowhere near feeling at my best."

"Yeah, it's no proble..." Dana started to reply, referring to the shirt, as Gabriel bounded back into the main room.
"Where do you work?" he asked, spry as a child of 5 rather than a man of 44. Relieving his bowels had certainly helped with his movement.
The rabbit hopped over to Dana and the shirt she was sewing back together. He poked it, and the fabric moved. Laughing a little bit, he poked it again. Then he yawned...very very loudly. It was two in the morning after all.
"Are you sure you don't have any idea who the imposter could have been?" Dana asked seriously.
Not many people walked around nowadays with metal parts. That was reserved for richer, more powerful people. That ruled out the theory of a regular burglery. This thief wanted something in particular. There were rumors of that red suited robotic menace going around...but...Dana didn't know.
Gabriel was thinking about flowers. He would normally be more on topic, but because he was off his medication, the ADHD and insanity set in stronger than ever.
He started humming "what a wonderful world" to himself.

Athos didn't see the harm in letting them know where he worked. After all it wasn't like that was a huge secret. Anyone who entered the store at the right time would see him there, busy taking care of his duties. Not like they were some super-secret private club or something. "Groves. I work at Groves. And I'm new, so I'd doubt it being some upset customer really, bound to be at least one or two others working there longer than me that they could be mad at. My first guess was it might be some Angel on a power trip or something. And I know I saw metal but I don't remember any sounds, no creaking gears or joints or anything like that. Guess it could have been oiled, an the guy was definitely bigger than me."
And it was doubtful someone would be sticking around his place for long. But if the attacker didn't steal anything people were bound to notice his broken door and window, some petty vandals and thieves might move in sooner or later to take whatever's left in his home. Good thing most of those types weren't awake now either.

((I'm SOOOO sorry...been SOOO busy!))
Athos's speaking brought Gabriel back to reality. "Groves....Groves...that's that antique shop isn't it?" he asked, looking at Dana, who gave him a nod. "I have heard things about that store. Shady things...am I right, my dear?"
Dana nodded. "Yes, that's right. I believe that Groves is the location at which the rebel Adeline is employed. But no one knows much about her. They say that her little 'group', the Foundry, is compelled to secrecy and there are nothing but rumors about who, or what, she actually is..."
"An Angel?!" Gabriel exclaimed. "Why, sir!" he cried, affronted. "The people of my station and group would never stoop to such low levels to break into a civilian's house! At least, I don't think they would...they wouldn't, would they Dana?"
"Of course not!" she replied, staring at Athos as though he accused them of a high crime. "The Hourglass Guild would never do such things. Even as an Apprentice I still know that the honor of the Guild would never be compromised in such a way."

"Well, sorry, was just a thought. I don't know much about any of your group really. I'm going to have to get home as soon as I can regardless just so I don't return to an empty house. Doctors said something like wanting to keep me overnight for a full exam and to be sure I wasn't going to totally mess up the treatment. And I guess I can stay here for a while. Hopefully nobody will try to steal my clothing and I have the TV bolted down so it's not going anywhere. Only real things that I don't want stolen are hidden pretty well, some fancy knives and a disassembled rifle. Just little tokens from previous jobs mostly. But who goes around following people to their home, bust down the door, throw the owner out a window, and ransack the place? Not exactly the kind of street thug or petty pickpocket I've seen once in a while."

(( Hope you don't mind me joining! ))
Most others of the same rank would scoff at the idea. Leaving the safe confines of home for a call on seemingly pointless matters. For all anyone knew the reptile brought it on himself. But most Seraphim were not like Aidith. She acquired the information through her own little grapevine. The incident was peculiar and a perfect excuse to stay out of bed. She bundled herself up and made her way to the hospital. Asking the front desk, she was instructed to, and found the room of Athos Teer.
She thrust her gloves into the bag that almost never left her side. Each hand caring for the little details. A spec of lint on her coat and a stray hair put in place as she paused just outside his room. Voices wafted from inside the room and one seemed very familiar. She then knocked gently at the frame of an already open door and peered through to find the victim and two familiar faces. She heard the tail end of the conversation and stepped into the doorway. “Pardon me for interrupting.” She nodded to the fellow Seraph and his assistant, merely to acknowledge their presence. Though not at all a detective, she would get to the bottom of this. There was something more than just a robbery going on here.

"The hospital isn't so bad," Gabriel mused, looking around. "Sure, they take you away from your comforts and force feed you horrendous food, and sure, they probe around at your brain and perform experiments that violate you, but in the end, it's all for the best, right?"
Dana gave him a hard stare at this. Gabriel went through different procedures than the other patients, and the things he said would scare any patient witless. It was only then that Dana saw the elk enter the room, and the apprentice stood to attention, bowing. "Seraph," she said in high respect.
Gabriel turned too. "Ah, Aidith, how are you my dear?" he asked jovially, bounding over to the Angel and taking her hand to kiss it. "Ah, such a beauty you are, even at such a late hour, after you must have been pulled up out of your peaceful dreaming to attend to this matter. This man had his house broken into," the rabbit finished, pointing at Athos.
It was no secret that Gabriel considered himself a proper gentleman. As being such, he considered it his duty to act as charming as possible around ladies. And, Aidith was indeed a beauty to behold. At times, particularly those when Gabriel was unmedicated, the rabbit was quite smitten with every woman he saw, flirting unobtrusively with them. When he was medicated, he tended to have a better hold over himself and his emotions.
